Drive Me Barcelona Supercars - 12 best shots

How I shot these 12 shots from Drive Me Barcelona Supercars

Sunday was a slow going day and due to the rainy weather I comitted to no plans and had no intention of leaving the house. As the weather stabilizied during the afternoon I spontaneously offered my flat mate to take some pictures for his Social Media in some places close by. So we went out and spent roughly two hours taking Snapshots for him. On our way back home we saw a crowd checking out super cars that were presented at this place called Drive Me Barcelona.

I have been to this area many times but never realized that this company was there. I wasn’t prepared at all but I took the opportunity as I had my camera with me. We only noticed this place as there was a crowd taking pictures of the cars. The cars were showcased there to promote their business and while I’m not the biggest car enthusiast the supercars on display were impressive and nice to look at.

Which challenges did I encounter?

There were many challenges that I encountered at the venue. The light in that place was not great. Additionally, some of the cars were cordoned off, there were not many angles to shoot from and space was very tight. I was also restricted to shoot from outside the cars and people from the crowd were walking into the frame from time to time. Lastly, I tried to remember which angles look typically good when photographing stationary cars. I didn’t check example pictures on the web or Social Media as I didn’t know how much time I have left. I wanted to get at least some shots in so I just followed mostly my photography instincts.

How did I solve the challenges?

Technically speaking I didn’t resolve any of them. I tried to make the best out of the opportunity.

The images I took are acceptable considering all the circumstances but they are not special by any means. If I remember correctly I used solely the Panasonic Lumix S Pro 24-70mm f/2.8 for these shots. This is the only wide angle zoom lens I own and also carried with me. It was a decent choice.

What did I learn from this opportunity?

As usual I should have communicated more with the people involved (staff members or just the crowd and offer to take pictures for them). This was the only thing that I had control over but I didn’t utilize it at all and it is my biggest weak point. I also could have asked to temporarily remove the band to have an easier time framing the shot and potentially have better perspectives but this is something I’m trying to improve as an introvert.

Thank you to the kind staff member from Drive Me Barcelona who offered to remove the informational papers from the windshield of the Lamborghini. Greatly appreciated!

Also, feel free to check out Drive Me Barcelona in Barceloneta and if you have the change for it you can hop-in in on of those fancy supercars and share with us how comfortable it is being in the driving seat.
